Kungfu after a long break

It’s been about 2 months since I last did kungfu, and boy was it great!

However, it’s really difficult since I have not done it for the past two months! I’m not as flexible as I used to be (not that I was ever any super flexible).

Two great things happened: apart from learning new moves, I also got a chance to do sparring for the very first time. For safety reasons, we had to take off our glasses. That was a problem. My eyesight is really bad, and I can see only shapeless forms moving.

Anyhow, I had a chance to spar with my really good friend and kungfu buddy. He’s one of the best in fighting, not to mention that he’s as tough as steel! (I think he’s more like titanium than steel.)

I gave a really hard kick using my right leg. Unfortunately, the top of my right foot kicked into his left knee. Now, under normal circumstances, the guy who got kicked in the knee would feel pain. But no, my friend, who has a body of titanium didn’t feel any pain at all!

In the end, it was I – yes, me! – who felt a sharp pain, and not too long after that, developed a huge bruise on my right foot! OUCH! Now my right foot’s a little stiff and somewhat swollen.

Haha… Well, no hard feelings. It’s expected anyway. My fault also for not aiming. I guess I was too excited with the first sparring experience. And, he IS a really good fighter. I got punched in the chest, and hit on my left eye too. Thank goodness there isn’t any major injuries. It just means I need to practice sparring more, and learn to be fast.

I guess I have no choice but to invest in contact lenses. Fighting without clear vision is really annoying.
