Drew this today as a motivation poster for my friend.
The drawing of Mencius’ mother on the left is based on Mencius’ childhood. One day, Mencius came back from school saying that he didn’t want to study anymore. So, his mother took a huge piece of cloth that she had been making, and cut it into two pieces before his very eyes. After that, Mencius made sure he perservered and studied very very hard.
Basically, it takes a lot of effort into making one piece of cloth. It is easy to cut it. But the damaged made is irreparable. Study takes a lot of effort, and can easily be destroyed by giving up on it. The damage made to one’s life after that is irreparable.
